Another December storm brought outages throughout Taylor Electric's service territory in mid-December. Ice and snow build up on the power lines and trees caused system wide problems. Although we had damage and numerous outages, we didn't get hit quite as hard as other WI cooperatives. Once our line crew was able to get outages restored here, Taylor Electric linemen Justin Fuchs, Geoff Mueller, Tim Habermeyer and Colten Cummings were sent with WECA’s ROPE (Restoration of Power in an Emergency) program to aid our neighboring cooperative, Jump River Electric Cooperative (JREC) on Friday, December 16th and returned Monday, December 19th. Jump River has offices located in Ladysmith and Hayward and of their approximate 8,500 members, 7,000 were without power from last week’s storm. Linemen from five other cooperatives were also sent to help in the restoration of power. The attachments below are pictures that were taken by the crews working at JREC and also from Taylor Electric's service territory. This is a great example of one of the seven cooperative principles: Cooperation among Cooperatives.
